Objectives

- Expansion of vocabulary through building a pictionary
- Bringing the local traditional expressions into formal classroom processes, connecting learning to the local/ community
What prior skills are assumed
- Creating images and organizing in folders
- Familiarity with text editor - basic text entry, inserting images into a document
- Local language typing

Description of activity with detailed steps
Teacher led activity
- Your teacher will play a song in the class and as a group discuss the lyrics; the lyrics of the song will be given in a text document.
- Identify the ideas for illustration, including the creation of multiple images for a given lyric
- Your teacher will demonstrate the use of Tux Paint for creating images and capturing the images for building the illustration
- She will demonstrate how to add images alongside the text for illustrating the song
