  2. Familiarity with text editor - basic text entry, inserting images into a document

Description of activity with detailed steps

Teacher led activity

  1. Your teacher will read a story "Town Mouse and Country Mouse" in class and in small groups identify the ideas to illustrate. The text of the story will be on your folder in the computer lab.
  2. In different groups, you will work on your illustrations.
  3. Your teacher will demonstrate the use of Tux Paint for creating images and capturing the images for building the illustration
  4. She will demonstrate how to add images alongside the text for illustrating the story.
  5. Your teacher will also discuss with you how to develop alternative endings to the story and you can illustrate the different endings.
  6. At the end of the exercise, exchange your illustrated stories. Suggest to others how they can further improve the illustrated stories.

  1. Story #1 (to be filled by Ramesh Sir / Vinayak sir, stories which can be developed/ enriched through images/illustrations to be identified)

  4. Talk to the elders in your community and ask them to tell you a local story - it can even be of a tree or the temple or the lake. You write down the text for the story as they narrate. Illustrate your local history story book. Ask your elders to sing or narrate the lyrics of one song to you. You write down the lyrics and illustrate your own family or community song.
