What I hope in this New Year
(Dedicated to Dr B R Ambedkar and his vision for a just society)
Dear young friend,
Today is the day of women in science. I thought I should write this note to all the young girls – aspiring to do great things, but numbed by self-doubts, that well-meaning people have put in you.
Today is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. It is my wish that this becomes a normalized day; where women in science or any other human endeavour is not an exception. We have made some progress in the last few years; but much more needs to be done.

A Karmayogi retires from government service
Mr. Mohammed Najibulla Baig ('Baigsaab') joined the Karnataka Education Services (KES) as an 'Additional Educational Officer' (AEO) in Gundlupet taluka in the then undivided Mysore district in 1978 and retired on April 30 as Director RMSA after a rich and distinguished service of around 35 years. This is a brief and selective exploration of that journey.
