Overview of the Tux Typing Tool Tux Typing is part of the Ubuntu distribution (in the training). This can be opened from Applications → education → Tux Typing.

Tux Typing is a free and open source typing tutor created especially for new computer learners. Tux Typing is an educational typing program for children starring Tux, the Linux Penguin. The program includes two video game-style activities for younger players, with phrases and finger lessons for experienced users

| When we open the Tux Typing it will show the window like this. Typing can be practiced by games and lesson. | When we select the lesson option it will show the window like this. It contains 43 basic lessons. Go through the each lessons to practice the typing. |

| Before displaying the keyboard window it show another 2 window and ask you to press space and p key | After clicking space and p key it will show the window like this. On the screen you can see list of items Time, Chars, CPM, WPM, Errors and Accuracy; these will basically tell you how well you are doing the typing lesson. You will find a blinking button on each finger to guide you as to which finger to be used for typing a given character.
