Background

The International Centre for Environment Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED) has been established by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for capacity building of auditors on issues related to environment and sustainable development. As part of its mandate for capacity building activities, iCED is holding a National Training Programme on Audit of Universalisation of Education from 14 May to 18 May 2018 for officers of Indian Audit & Accounts Department, on issues relating to School Education in India, Right to Education, Inclusion and Equity, Importance of Physical Infrastructure, Use of ICT and Quality Issues in School Education, Embedding global citizenship concepts in education (SDG 4.7), Audit of Universalisation of Education etc. Gurumurthy, IT for Change was invited to design and conduct a session on Use of ICT in School Education in this workshop.

Objectives of the workshop session on 'Use of ICT in School Education'

  1. To provide an overview of the role and potential of ICT in school education
  2. To share a brief history of ICT programs in Indian school education
  3. To discuss policy aspects of ICT in school education and understand the National Policy of ICT in School Education, 2012
  4. To understand the National ICT Curriculum, 2013
