Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Welcome to the FAQ section for WiseMapping. Below are some questions that users often ask, along with clarifications.

1. Can I use WiseMapping on my mobile device?

A: Yes, but please note that WiseMapping is not as stable on mobile devices compared to the desktop version. For the best experience, it is recommended to use WiseMapping on a desktop or laptop.

2. Can I install WiseMapping as software?

A: No, WiseMapping is a web-based tool and cannot be installed or used offline. You need an internet connection to create and manage your mind maps.

3. Will my published mind maps stay on WiseMapping forever?

A: No, WiseMapping reserves the right to delete mind maps that remain inactive or unused for more than 9 months. Make sure to access or edit your maps periodically to avoid them being deleted.

4. When I share a map with collaborators, will the edits they make show up directly? Can I track the changes made by them individually?

A: Yes, the changes made by collaborators will show up, but not instantly. You will need to refresh the map page you are working on to see their edits. To track changes made by each collaborator, you can use the history feature. By clicking on it, you can view a list of changes made by each collaborator, allowing you to see who made which modifications.

5.Do I need to download anything to use WiseMapping?

A: No! You don’t need to download anything. WiseMapping works directly in your internet browser, like Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. Just go to their website, and you can start creating mind maps right away.

6. Can I make a mind map collaborative without letting others edit my ideas?

A: Yes! When you share a mind map with someone, you can choose whether they can just view it or if they can edit it too. To make your map collaborative but prevent others from changing your ideas, share it with "View Only" permissions. This way, they can see your work but can't make any changes.

7. I don’t understand the export options. Which one should I use?

A:WiseMapping offers a few different export options, such as PDF, PNG (image), or even as an XML file (for other mind-mapping tools). If you’re not sure, exporting to PDF is usually the easiest and safest option, as it keeps your mind map in a format that can be viewed on any device, printed, or shared without losing its layout.
