This unit discusses how you can learn to use Information and Communication Technologies (henceforth ICT) for self learning and peer learning. It includes a knowledge/ understanding component and a skills component. You will learn about the history of ICTs and the place of digital ICTs in this evolution. You will also learn how to use ICT ethically and in keeping with the spirit of inclusion.
You will become familiar with different components of the ICT Infrastructure in your lab. You will learn how to use email and social networking applications to connect to your classmates and to other teachers and learners. You will learn to build ‘professional learning communities’ with your peers, through virtual forums and mailing lists.
